About

Alexander is ​a 19-year-old based in London. Currently studying Production and Technical Arts: Stage and Screen at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) after graduating from The Leys School, on a Technical Drama and Design Technology Scholarship. He is working as a part-time freelance lighting designer in theatres around Cambridge and London. 

Alexander regularly works with local theatre companies and schools/colleges and is a member of The Penguin Club and ADC Techies groups.

My Story

Alexander joined The Leys School in 2018, he has completed his A-Levels in Computer Science, Design and Technology and Mathematics as well as having received multiple awards for his dedication to theatre. Alexander has started a company expanseElectronics which manufactures miniature theatre products, ranging from DMX devices to cue systems. 

He has been involved in every single production that The Leys School have produced, with shows such as; The Sound of Music, A Midsummer Nights Dream, The Crucible, A Christmas Carol and most recently, The Summer Cabaret. He often returns to The Leys to help with their productions.  

In 2019, he joined The Penguin Club, a group of enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy making the technical side of shows come together. During his time involved with The Penguin Club, highlights include: Grease (2021), Our House (2021), Joseph and His Technicolour Dreamcoat (2021), Calendar Girls (2022), Shrek The Musical (2022), Frozen Jr (2023). and Everybody's Talking About Jamie (2023).  

He has gained close relations with Cambridge Theatre Company and Cambridge Youth Theatre, and is planning to work on their shows in the future. 

Currently, Alexander is studing at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) for a BA in Production and Technical Arts: Stage and Screen. He will complete his studies in 2026, but with continue working as a freelancer in theatres in Cambridge and London. 

Alexander is Safeguarding Level 1, First Aid and Fire Safety trained, and has an Enhanced DBS check for working as a Theatre Technician. 

Audinate  Dante Level 1, 2 and 3 Certifications and Dante AV Trained.
